“Terrified and Curious”, at its heart, is an investigation into the cyclic relationship between the desires that lead men into darkrooms, and how those desires shape the design and aesthetics of the Darkroom. But more than this, it is an exploration into the parts of our unconscious that push us into these spaces even if we think them to be taboo, or even unsafe. With themes of the uncanny, sexuality, identity, and a look into the concept of the “Call of the Void”, “Terrified and Curious” is also a chance to open up the discourse surrounding these spaces to a wider audience, beyond the already initiated.
