This shoot contains full frontal nudity. This is something I have so far been reluctant to do, but after correspondence with Chris Northey, and some time spent reflecting on previous conversation with tutors and peers at previous points in this course, I resolved to produce a series of images showing the nude male figure. This models in this shoot are real life partners, and they are friends of mine and were keen to help with my work. The photographs were produced in a studio setting, and while I have included gelled red lights in reference back to my previous works based on Dark Rooms, I have fully lit these photos so that nothing is hidden.
I was expecting to produce a series of nudes. I wasn't expecting to produce passionate erotic portraits of a couple in love. But I think that is what I have done. I am still a little unsure about this work, and how it fits into my project, but I am proud of it. I am not sure how to take this further right now, but I have more studio time booked with these pair, and in the meantime I have a couple of artists on my research list, so perhaps some inspiration can show me where to take this next, and how it will fit in with my project.
